I feel as though i leanred alot of important things in this class, but most importantly how to write a proper e-mail. I think with the age now with texting and all these abbreviations it becomes very easy to short hand information. This is fine when texting or e-mailing to a friend, but on a professional level this should not been done. Ivelearned how to give e-mails proper headings and subjects, aslo adressing people by the correct title is important too. I have already used knowledge i have gained about e-mail to email teachers about the up coming school year and the have responded back to me quicker more efficently .

This would be a job I would consider. Doing special effects for Independent horror films. Special effects has ALWAYS been something i was interested in and this would be a the perfect way to begin a career in the movie field. The director seems excited about the project and ambitious, he has long term and short term goals in place for the film which is enticing when it comes to independent films. He also is willing to pay small amount to the VFX artist which is a huge plus. I would imagine I am qualified right now because these sorts of jobs have no real training necessary just experience. And seeing as I have experience working in a couple of horror shorts myself, I believe I could land this job.

The section i found most interesting from pages 57 - 69 (Writing Collaboratively) was about critiquing a group members work. Even if if the intent his not to be rude and the rules listed on page 68 are followed through 100%,  you cannot disregard the human factor. When some one is putting their work out there for some one else to view its very easy to take every little critique as a personal attack on their spell, grammar, skill (at typing), or even intelligence. Considering the book states that " Knowing ho to [critique notes] without offending the writer is a valuable skill" it does not spend much time on it.

I went to Gates House this morning before class and picked up a large binded book, as well as some smaller brochures, aimed at prospective students for BSU. I plan on using mostly source for mydocument design as it has all the information I think  Iwill need for it; including pictures, quotes from students and alumni, stats, information extra curricular activities, and pictures. I will most likely suppliment this book with some information from the website, but seeing as I prefer to work with a physical book over a website it probably will not be much.
